A Long Awaited Absence

December 16, 2010

To my readers and all other people who just pass through,

I’m sorry for my unintended absence. Unfortunately as things go, my life took a little bit of a stumble and a roll but luckily I managed to get myself up and moving again. I won’t go into details as to what happened but for those of you who know, you know why I had to disappear for a little while. I promise not to scare you all like that again. You have my word. For those of you who don’t know, I will simply leave it that I had an issue to take care of. It has been taken care of and I am happy to say that the stories will continue.

Your Love Is Like Wildflowers (While Mine Is Like Hardcore Rockin’)

November 10, 2010

He found me in Stormwind City browsing the various stands for any new recipes that I hadn’t already acquired. While I was still wearing the ratty robes I wear when I’m picking flowers, when I see myself through Thalend’s eyes, I’m beautiful. As usual, he was wearing his plated kilt and no shirt. I know many men find his desire to walk around without a blouse to be sinful (although I know many women who have commented to Thalend don’t mind the sinfulness it may give off), but I respect his choice in believing that the Light provides enough protection that he doesn’t need to wear full regalia. He smells of oil, engine grease, sweat and an intoxicating cologne; a combination that I never would have thought to be so alluring before.

Baby Giggles and Butterscotch Pudding

November 8, 2010

Keep in mind this is again in the future, come Cataclysm, so no it hasn’t quite happened yet. Its a rough draft of some of the ideas I’ve had.

Thalend woke up, rubbing his eyes and letting out a long heaving sigh as he heard a soft squabble from the otherside of the room near the dresser. Groaning softly, he slipped his arm away from the blond who had been sleeping peacefully at his side as she did every night. Outside the window, the horizon was speckled with orange and pink; the colors slowly brightening as they began their hostile takeover of the midnight blue and charcoal gray skies. Dawnsworn may have been his last name but dawn certainly wasn’t an hour of the day he could process cognitively. A soft layer of frost framed around the glass of the window. Sliding his feet off the bedding and lurching forward to force himself up, he could hear the soft cooking begin to develop into a snorting-cry.

Angels & Demons

November 7, 2010

I can remember looking into his eyes after I told him Maeltum had lost Arrianna and that she was missing. He looked lost. Immediately, he wanted to jump into action and be at Maeltum’s side and I couldn’t honestly disrespect him for a choice like that. Maeltum is a close friend and my second Camerlengo. He’s lost someone dear to him, but I fear perhaps he is jumping into the belly of the beast without thinking. No one, save for Maeltum, has seen Arrianna in close to two months whereas he had only spoken to her three days ago. I know she has made a habit of vanishing and I worry perhaps the person who “took” her knows this — as the person clearly knows more about Maeltum than we do — and is using this to entice him into a trap. I worry that perhaps he is overthinking the situation and will ultimately be dismayed at the end result.

Winter’s Veil (A Future Story)

November 4, 2010

Evanyell sighed and pinned the last pleat of cloth on Gwinn’s Winter’s Veil dress. She had been working on this project as a gift for Gwinn since November and to have it still only partially done made her feel a little lazy, but Gwinn seemed happy with the way things were going for her red velvet dress. It took several months and a few hundred gold to get all of the materials for it, but Evanyell wasn’t about to let her daughter down during the holiday season.

Heartstrings

November 3, 2010

He tells me I’m beautiful. He’s always there to offer me his hand and catches me during the quakes. He makes my heart flutter and makes me nervous beyond all reason. He’s quiet and reserves his smiles for me. He’s entranced by my ears and hasn’t tried to force me into his bed, once. He’s in love with the children and cares about what they think. He holds Little Will as if he were a perfect little treasure and plays with Philip; is even concerned about Gwinn’s well-being and how she’s growing up.
